Job: Underwriter
PPIB is seeking a qualified Underwriter to handle commercial lines quoting and submissions from Retail Brokers all over the US.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Job Activities:
- Travel to visit brokers 2-4 times/year
- Review submissions
- Underwrite submissions
- Sell them to brokers and retail clients
- Anticipate they will bring in $100,000+ new business/month in premium
- Assist with Program Development
- Fully know manual, policy forms and exclusions
- Direct u/w I, II & assistant on functional & underwriting matters
- Keep up on renewals for brokers & large clients
- Handles other jobs and programs that might come up from time to time
Required Skills:
- Three years (minimum) Commercial Insurance Agency/Underwriter experience
- Knowledge of insurance coverages including professional liability, general liability, and property insurance
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Must have a "Property and Casualty Broker-Agent License"
- Anticipate they will bring in $100,000+ new business/month in premium
Compensation:
- Pay is based on experience; Benefits include 401k plan, health insurance and 125 plan option.
Job: Account Manager and Assistant Underwriter
PPIB is seeking an experienced Commercial lines licensed broker with experience in handling professional liability and commercial property insurance.
The position will work with a large book of new/renewals that consists of several different carriers and firm sizes. Specific responsibilities include: obtaining renewal information and/or underwriting information; assisting in marketing new & renewal business, determining premiums, preparing presentations packets and maintaining underwriting and marketing information, checking renewal policies for accuracy, ensuring that items are delivered to client, receiving phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims, and administrative issues. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Desired Skills:
3 to 5 years of professional liability (claims made) insurance experience is required.
- Thorough understanding of commercial lines, coverage and risk analysis.
- Must be able to quickly learn programs and underwriting manual with limited supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with standard insurance concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Must be able to make rapid decisions.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work with a sense of urgency and have excellent customer service skills.
Must have an active California P&C License (please include license number with your resume).

Job: Customer Service Representative
We have an open position for a Customer Service Representative in a busy commercial insurance brokerage company in Novato.
Responsibilities include:
- Process endorsement requests
- Renewal quotes - 100-200 per month
- Process renewal applications
- Handle phone inquiries from brokers and clients
- Send letters or emails for information
- Support Underwriters in getting items needed to bind
Other requirements:
- Excellent computer, organizational and phone skills - Phone skills being a must
- Cannot be shy about picking up the phone and taking charge of a situation to get it resovled.
- MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE CALIFORNIA PROPERTY/CASUALTY LICENSE
